An Environmental Justice Issue

Note the many languages of the “Fish Advisory” -- Russian, Hmong, Spanish, English -- posted to this website, reflecting the many ethnic communities in this region.  People eat fish from the river for sustenance. The Spokane Tribe and other Native American communities have long used the River to meet subsistence and other cultural needs. Polluting the River with PCBs is an environmental justice issue.
