     Brian Henning PhD


Dr. Brian G. Henning is from Boise, Idaho but considers Spokane his adopted home. He earned his bachelors in philosophy at Seattle University and his masters and doctorate in philosophy from Fordham University in New York City.


Joining the faculty at Gonzaga University in 2008, he is currently Professor of Philosophy and Environmental Studies. At Gonzaga he helped found and co-chair Gonzaga’s Advisory Council on Stewardship and Sustainability, through which he helped author the University’s first climate action plan.


Henning is author of several books and articles, including the award winning book The Ethics of Creativity: Beauty, Morality and Nature in a Processive Cosmos. A book on ethics and climate change is forthcoming.  For more on his work, click here.
